Role Purpose
Premas Life Sciences’ Spectrum Division represents a portfolio of advanced technologies spanning spectral cytometry, proteomics, spatial biology, and single-cell/organoid platforms. The Group Product Manager will own the techno-commercial charter for this portfolio, driving revenue growth, principal relationship management, and market development across India, while building and mentoring a team of Product Managers.
This is a role for someone equally comfortable in a scientific discussion with a lab head and a commercial negotiation with a principal or key account — someone who can translate platform capability into a market strategy and then execute it through a team.
Key Responsibilities
Techno-Commercial Strategy & P&L Ownership
• Own the go-to-market strategy, revenue targets, and portfolio P&L for the Spectrum Division products across India.
• Develop annual and quarterly business plans per platform, factoring in competitive positioning, pricing strategy, and account prioritization.
• Identify and develop new market segments and applications for each platform (academic, clinical, pharma/biotech, government/public health).
Principal & Partner Management
• Serve as the primary techno-commercial interface with principal companies for business reviews, forecasting, joint planning, and escalation management.
• Negotiate country-level market development programs, commercial activities and co-development opportunities with principals.
• Represent Premas at principal-organized regional/global meetings as required.
Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and performance-manage a team of 2 Product Managers, allocating platform ownership and account responsibility across the team.
• Set individual and team KPIs aligned to division revenue and pipeline goals.
• Build team capability on technical positioning, competitive selling, and account strategy.
Sales Enablement & Field Support
• Equip the regional sales force with technical training, product positioning, competitive battlecards, and objection-handling frameworks.
• Provide direct field support on strategic/large-value accounts, including customer presentations, technical evaluations, and proposal development.
• Drive KOL engagement and reference-site development for each platform.
Product & Portfolio Management
• Track platform roadmaps, new product introductions, and lifecycle transitions in coordination with principals.
• Own product-level marketing collateral, pricing sheets, and technical documentation in partnership with the marketing team.
• Monitor competitive landscape and market intelligence across all Spectrum platforms.
Marketing & Demand Generation
• Plan and execute product launches, roadshows, workshops, and scientific symposia for the division.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on content strategy, digital presence, and lead generation campaigns for Spectrum products.
Reporting & Forecasting
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts along with the sales managers, pipeline reviews, and CRM hygiene across the division.
• Present business reviews to leadership and principals on a periodic basis.
Must-Have Competencies
• Strong technical proficiency across immunology, proteomics, and/or spatial/single-cell biology platforms, with the ability to engage credibly with scientists and KOLs.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical and CXO-level audiences.
• Strong commercial acumen — pricing strategy, deal structuring, and P&L thinking.
• Proven ability to build and execute go-to-market strategies in a competitive, multi-principal environment.
• High degree of ownership, with the ability to work independently across a pan-India, multi-city portfolio.
Education & Experience
• 8–10 years of experience in life sciences and Biopharma/Biotech industry, with a strong background in product management, technical sales, or business development.
• Prior experience handling cytometry, proteomics, spatial biology, single-cell, or related genomics/life sciences instrumentation platforms strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing principal/OEM relationships in a distribution or channel partner environment.
• Prior people-management experience, having led or mentored a product/sales team.
• Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences, PhD/MBA preferred but not mandatory.
Skills & Competencies
• Techno-commercial strategy and P&L ownership
• Principal and partner management
• People leadership and team development
• Product and portfolio management
• Sales enablement and strategic account support
• Market development and demand generation
• Competitive intelligence and positioning
• Forecasting, pipeline management and business reviews
