Job Description
Come do your postdoc in West Texas: a sentence that has probably never been used as clickbait. šļøš¤ West Texas may not be the first place that comes to mind when you picture your next postdoc. But if you care more about theĀ science you get to own, the mentorship you receive, and what you have the opportunity to build, keep reading. #TheSrivastavaLabĀ is recruiting anĀ NIH-funded Postdoctoral Research AssociateĀ to join our growing program inĀ nanofluorophores and near-infrared-II (NIR-II) bioimaging. I want this position to be more than another few years of technical training. The goal is for the person joining us to develop aĀ recognizable scientific identity and increasing independence. What that means in practice: ā¢Ā Substantial intellectual ownershipĀ of projects, from experimental design through publication. ⢠Opportunities to lead strong first-author papers and, where scientifically appropriate and permitted by the journal, receiveĀ co-corresponding-author credit. ⢠Direct involvement in developing manuscripts, grants, and new research directions. ⢠Opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers. ⢠Close interaction with me on scientific strategy, career planning, and building the foundation for your next position. ⢠The opportunity to help shape new directions in a research program that is still growing. Scientifically, we are looking for someone with strong experimental expertise spanning at least two of the following areas: polymer/surfactant synthesis | nanoparticle synthesis and nanoformulation | 2D/3D in vitro models | in vivo mouse imaging and biodistribution studies. The objective is straightforward: when you leave the lab, I want you to haveĀ strong lead-author publications, experience developing grants and mentoring researchers, and, most importantly, a scientific direction that feels like your own. West Texas may not have coastal glamour. It does have room to build something. šĀ Full position description:Ā attached to this post šĀ Apply formally through Texas Tech University: https://lnkd.in/eJ-_PX63 Please feel free to share this opportunity with anyone in your network who may be a strong fit. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Questions about the position or research fit are welcome by email or LinkedIn message, butĀ all applications must be submitted through the Texas Tech portal.
