Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for fermentor/bioreactor instruments at customer sites, including installation, training, and validation of equipment.​

Conduct product demonstrations, application training, and periodic workshops for clients and internal teams to enhance understanding and use of fermentation systems.​

Collaborate closely with the sales and R&D teams to address customer needs and offer technical recommendations that align with VFL Sciences’ fermentor instruments portfolio.​

Optimize user protocols and assist in experiment design, scaling-up fermentation processes, and process parameter optimization for diverse client requirements.​

Gather market and customer feedback to help guide new product features, applications, and business development strategies.

Maintain accurate records of technical support cases, customer feedback, product performance, and maintenance activities.

Support the rollout of new fermentor/bioreactor systems, including on-site instrument setup and user onboarding.

Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitor instruments in the fermentation space.

Ensure compliance with safety, GLP/GMP, and quality control standards during all application and support activities.​Tips: Provide a summary of the role, what success in the position looks like, and how this role fits into the organization overall.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related life sciences discipline.

Hands-on experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining fermentors or bioreactors (bench-, pilot-, or industrial-scale).​

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.​

Prior experience in field application support, technical sales support, or customer-facing scientific roles is highly desirable.​

Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, laboratories, and conferences. Ready for travel at short notice

Proficiency with data analysis, instrument software, and reporting.

Knowledge of fermentation processes, microbial physiology, and application optimization.

Collaborative and proactive, able to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
